Why We Started Family Traditions Beef

(and How It Solves Your Meat Buying Problems)

Before you begin to buy from us, I'm sure you'd like to get to know us a little better. That's exactly what I'm going to share with you! Like you, I like to do my research on the front end, so that I can confidently move forward knowing that I'm getting a quality product.

To start us off, meet Don... he's the one you will want to thank after our beef touches your taste buds! He was thinking of YOU when he had the idea to start this business back in 2015. He wanted to provide your family with the highest quality beef and make it super easy for you to obtain it. He realized that a lot of people aren't satisfied with the quality of beef they receive from the grocery store but are also lost when it comes switching to buying direct from a farm. We are here to fix that problem! Don started farming in high school with 10 acres and joined the farm full time after college. Boy was his Momma proud to have him join his father on the farm. Like any family team, daily tasks are divided up by each person's strengths. Don oversees planting, harvesting and selection of ag inputs as well as daily work with the cow herd. His dedication and hard work are reflected in the quality of the beef that Family Traditions offers.

I'm Jennifer and I grew up wanting to marry a farmer and be a stay-at-home mom! After a few years of teaching math after college, both of those dreams came true. Farming and raising cattle is a family affair and I wanted to be apart of it along with allowing our children those experiences. Growing up on a hog farm a few miles from Don's home farm, I've always had a love for animals and a desire for quality protein to fuel my body. I've grown to love our cattle and would spend 30 minutes a day in the field with them every day if I had the time!

As a mom who's juggling the 100 things us moms do, I am able to plan meals ahead of time because I know what's in my freezer! You can do this too!

It's amazing to NEVER put a beef or pork item in my grocery cart.

Do you feel disappointed with the beef and pork you're currently purchasing?

Do you know if your beef and pork were raised in the US?

Do you want beef and pork so good that you'll be talking about it for days?

Then you are in the right place!

Family Traditions Beef is born and raised on our family farm in southern Indiana. We hand select genetics to give your beef the WOW factor when it comes to flavor and tenderness. Our beef consistently grades high choice or prime!

We source our pork from a dear friend in northern Indiana. Mike Hertsel's' love for raising hogs on his family farm shines through into the pork he produces. Berkshire pork is known as the Wagyu of the pork world because of its internal marbling that is not common in grocery store pork.

We are here to serve you and would love to become your trusted beef and pork source!
